Don’t Take the Risk: Why A Medicare Supplement Plan Is Important

August 27, 2021

What’s the riskiest thing you’ve ever done? Maybe you got up to crazy antics when you were still in high school, maybe you became a weekend warrior after you started working, maybe you even invested in a new business venture in your 40s.

But what if the riskiest thing you’ve ever done is enroll in Medicare with no supplemental insurance?

All it could take is one illness, one accident, or one trip to the hospital. Suddenly, you have a bill for tens of thousands of dollars…and you’re the one responsible for paying it. Your retirement savings could be jeopardized with the expense.

Even the frequent additional costs of medical care as we age can dramatically add up. Many people don’t anticipate how much out-of-pocket expenses like deductibles and copays can cost.

You can be prepared and protected with a Medicare Supplement Plan (also known as MedSup or MediGap). MedSup can offset the high costs of deductibles, co-pays, and unexpected expenses not covered through Medicare. These plans provide you with peace of mind by filling the gaps and minimizing your out-of-pocket expenses.

MedSup also gives you the freedom to use your own physician, specialist, and medical facility.  Plus, having Medicare Supplement coverage can provide additional freedom to visit a provider that does not accept Medicare Assignment. The best time to enroll is during your open enrollment period, which is a six-month window that begins the month you turn 65.

Don’t be a daredevil with your retirement savings. Get a Medicare Supplement Plan today. Your association and AMBA are here to help. To find the plan that best fits your needs and budget, visit www.amba-review.com. Set up a free consultation with a skilled AMBA representative at 866-615-4063.
